I have been fortunate enough to have lived in environments that are very culturally and physically
diverse. I grew up in a remote area of California’s Mojave Desert, leaving to attend college. I began
my art studies at the University of California at Davis where I received a Bachelor’s Degree. In the
early 1970s, I traveled to Europe where I lived for several years in rural Greece and Ireland. I began
drawing and painting as a way of documenting these experiences.
Returning to the east coast in the U.S., I extended my fine arts education with continuing education
classes from New York schools such as the Art Students League and the Cooper Union.
I have returned to art after a long absence spent raising children and working as a teacher of adult
literacy.
